At Sigmund Freud University Linz, the university course “Suicide Prevention Plus” – training to become a suicide prevention gatekeeper was established in the academic year 2018/2019. The course imparts action-oriented know-how in the assessment of suicidality and in dealing with people in suicidal crises on a scientific basis and thus represents an important measure in suicide prevention.
